calling all leaders with courage
The median age of a pastor is 55 years old with more pastors being older than 65 than younger than 40. South Carolina churches are facing a massive leadership turnover that will cause many churches to suffer in the coming years.
We are seeking to connect local ministers with seasoned mentors to allow them to have meaningful ministry experience.
If you are a seasoned leader in ministry, the next generation needs your wisdom. If you are a young gun, you need people to run with.
Why Jasper?
William Jasper was a soldier for the Second South Carolina Continental Regiment during the Revolutionary War. During the battle of Sullivan’s Island, a crucial moment appeared when the rebel’s flag was shot down. In this period of warfare, a fallen flag meant surrender. Jasper saw this happen and instinctually lifted the flag in the midst of cannon fire. The battle seemed lost, but this action rallied the regiment to continue fighting. The battle was later won and days later the Declaration of Independence was signed. Jasper later died during the Siege of Savannah committing the same action of raising a fallen flag.
The courage of one leds to freedom for many. We desire to model Jasper’s life. In the midst of a declining church and a secular culture, we will be a people of courage. A sign to all believers that the battle will be won and South Carolina belongs to the Lord.
